I have been looking at a S&W 48 at auction that has both cylinders but it is a dash 4 and is well north of the $500 mark with LOTS of time to go. I shoot a lot of rimfire these days and want a dual cylinder S&W but they are getting too high IMHO. I have a NICE S&W 648-1 so I was thinking if I could find a good gun smith who would/could do me a 22 LR cylinder for the 648, I would go that route then have a 648 that shoots 22 mag and 22 LR. Anyone know of a good gunsmith who could.would do this job? I appreciate any info/advise.
