My first .22 was a PPK/s. I had it for years and, alas, the old horse trading started, and I traded it for some thing I later traded away again. Such is gun collecting. TJ

A Marlin 75C tube fed auto-loader bought out of the Sears/Roebuck Catalog back in the early 80's. I saved every penny I earned doing odd jobs for about 1 year to buy that rifle. Delivered directly to our home address when I was 13 years old.

Glenfield/marlin (from K-Mart) with scope. Wasn't easy enough on the gun to keep the scope sighted in . Dang near sold/traded it a couple of times years back. Got it out about ten years ago, noticed it said LR only on the barrel. Looked at some old ammo, it said, "longs". Hmmmmmmmm. Went and bought some LR's and you know, it doesn't jam like it used to!!!! Gun was smarter than me all along! It has plenty of scars, but sure shot the bottles and cans to death along a dirt road roadditch!! Not a collector's item, worth a ton of money, but it survived alongside me on my horse on many dream hunts, so it has earned its right to stay!

Remington 512 "Sportmaster" from my grandfather. He bought it new way back when, and I got it when he passed away.

My first was a Rohm 23 revolver. It was my Mom's, so it is special to me.

How about a Ward's Western Field Model 37 .22 S, L, LR, single shot rifle. It was my dad's and he was born in 1920 and bought in '34. I still shoot it today but not that often.

Mine was a Marlin Model 60. Got it for christmas when I was about 13 or 14 years old. My cousin and I got matching rifles for christmas that year. My dad finally gave it back to me last friday at 41 years old. Just like christmas all over again. For some reason he wouldn't let me have it, and kept it locked away until recently.

Can't wait to fire some rounds through it.

A Glenfield/Marlin model 10 single shot for Christmas when I was 12 years old in 1969. Still have the gun and it is quite accurate!

A Marlin Model 995 w/ Bushnell Banner 4x scope. Paid $35 for it back in 92'. Shot better than my $640 Magnum Research "Mag-lite" 10-22 w/ carbon fiber bbl. & 3x9-40 scope.

A short, lightweight, semi-auto that is fun to shoot & has been many a tree rat's last memory.

Me too, it was my dad's when he was a boy. It's in great shape and it's deadly accurate for squirrels. I also like that it shoots shorts, longs and long rifle cartridges. Remington really made a great rifle when they made this one.

Had to put a scope it recently, I can't see those irons and the target like I used to be able to.

A '75 Ithaca saddle gun (lever action). The first I ever shot was a 40s vintage Marlin 81dl. Bought the Ithaca and inherited the Marlin about 3 years ago.

My first was a model 15Y Stevens. I shot hundreds of rounds through it and it shoots as well today as it did when it was new.
My dad bought it at a local general store in 1958 when I was taking my hunter safety course so I would have it to use the night we shot at the Sportsmans club range. Dad paid $15 NIB.
I have since given the little .22 to my son who keeps it in his gun cabinet. I am looking forward to seeing my grandaughter shoot it soon as well as the grandson my son has on the way now.
All my children have shot the .22 and it is part of the family.

My first .22 was/is a winchester model 67 single shot. My dad gave it to me when I was about 10, it was also his first rifle. A few years later he bought me a beautifull Remington 552 Speedmaster BDL. Still have both. Somehow my dad got the winchester back in his safe. It's funny, I have a couple other rifles,Winchester 30-30, Saiga AK-47,a couple S&W revolvers, and a Remington 1100 shotgun. I would give them all up before I got rid of those .22's.

It was a single action .22 revolver. I bought it while I was still in college and kept it in my dorm room. Would have probably been kicked out of school if they knew I had it. It was a cheap one. It only cost about $25 new. If I recall corrrectly the name on it was Buffalo. I had it for a year or two and something broke inside the mechanism. I took it to a gunsmith but he said he couldn't get parts for it and Colt parts would not fit it. I never got it fixed. I don't remember what I did with it. That was over forty years ago.

Savage Stevens 87a tube-fed semi-auto, obtained 5 years ago.

It was one of the last items left in my father's formerly large (>200 firearms) collection. The action was sitting in a room, so I bought the cheapest stock I could find on eBay & built it up. It shoots great and roped me in to collecting. Bad gun!
