Default 1911 Recommendation Requested

I've finally decided to sell my Glock 23 which is my home gun. I want to replace it with a "1911" style pistol. I want a full size 45, single-stack, with accessory rail. I don't need (can't afford) a custom gun but want a nice stock weapon. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'd like to keep the price point less than $800.

Thanks,

John

Springfield operator $902 at Buds.

Taurus 191101B1 $536 at Buds.

Just spent a little more time "window shopping" at Bud's and found a Taurus191109pssg1 which means Stainless with gold highlights....PURDY PISTOL for $580. Too bad my budget's busted for the next century.

Not sure what the price is, but I think the Sig Sauer GSR 1911 has an accessory rail on it. Springfield makes a couple of theirs with it. Though those ones may be over $800. Check out the Taurus PT1911. I think theirs is more combat-oriented with the rails and stuff and I don't think they're too pricey either.

I almost bought a Taurus pt1911 AR at my local shop the other day, it has a rail, and was selling new for $575. I did not get it because I did not want the rail, so he ordered me in a standard PT1911.
