I shoot 1911s better that most other pistol styles but I have rather larger hands and It takes me a second to set my grip on the thin 1911 frame.
I put some Pachmayr American Legend grips on my Para GI Expert and they helped me acquire a proper grip, but I prefer all wood grips. On my Colt Combat Elite I was considering using the Hogue Exotic Hardwood Finger groove grips. I was just curious about any issues with these grips before I spent $109.00 on them. I bought them, They just got Here! Attachment 34443 Attachment 34444 Attachment 34445 Attachment 34446 I can't wait to try them out!

If you like them, go for it. The grips are nice looking, have you had the opportunity to try them?
Personalization is one of the many things I love about 1911s; they truly become "our" guns.

Got some on my MkIII, I love em. They came with the gun however. Part of the reason I picked it, turned a already good lookin gun into a work of art so to speak. They may not be Hogue, nor is it a 1911 and i believe they are a made of domestic wood, in any rate they shure are pretty on my rodent slayer.

I have had these grips on my Commanders for the last 12 years and wouldn't have anything else on my carry guns. They never hang up and for my old hands it helps me get the positive grip, instantly. With all the other items I have to make my gun ambi, these are a natural and it is hard to imagine using any other grip style on my 1911s for carry. Only my humble opinion, but you asked and its free. UF |
