Default Springfield Champion vs Full Size

Does a Springfield GI Champion (Commander length) have the same frame size as the Springfield GI Full size (Government length)?

GI Champion
Attachment 34481

GI Full SIze
Attachment 34480

I would prefer the Champion but I want to utilize a 22 conversion kit and that will only work on a Government size frame.

Marvel conversion for tight groups but there are less expensive ones for plinking.
