The strength of the NRA is in its members, right? So, the members need to demand change from the organization. I don't think looking elsewhere is the answer necessarily, although, attrition may push them to take notice.

I used to be a member. Then, they took my money for a two or three year(Can't remember which) membership and never reactivated me. They did keep hounding me for the money. I told them to send back my money or give me my membership. Never saw either. That chapter in my life is closed.
They could have also saved some money if they hadn't clogged my mailbox with promotionals.

Yeah the whole asking for money and multiple mailings thing is what pushed me over the edge. Not only that, but their support for additional legislation against gun owners.

They had a big organized members revolution many years ago.
At the anual meeting, the malcontents were all over the place with walkie-talkies to coordinate their efforts.

It was declared a successful revolution.

Nothing changed.

I too dropped my membership basically because of internal politics and wasting of $$$. I couldn't tell at the time what was going on and who they were they fighting for or in bed with? I may reconsider a new membership if I know the true agenda and coruption with-in has been corrected. I do know the Government's agenda and its to disarm America. There will be a fight coming, I hope WE the people are up to the challenge.

If the government wants to disarm the populace there's nothing the NRA will be able to do over it. If that's the reason you support them, then you're belief is misplaced.

The disarmament can and will occur with the stroke of a pen on an Executive Order.

I disagree.
There is a very large gap between what is mandated by law and what occurs in reality.

Did everyone stop drinking when Prohibition became law?

If we could get term limits inacted, clean out Washington, and help the NRA help us maybe as law abiding citizens we might have a chance at holding on to the 2nd amenment in the long run. Educating the people and convincing them of the governments progressive socialism agenda would go a long ways toward perserving the whole Constitution.

Maybe not the best game in town but they are the biggest gorilla in the gun fight so they keep my support. On the other hand they aren't the only group I belong to. either you support the groups supporting the second amendment and by extension the rest of the bill of rights and the constitution as written or you do not.

LOL, are you implying that those that do NOT support the NRA are, in fact, not supporting the 2nd Amendment or the Bill of Rights, or the Constitution? That's how I read that.

Yet another, member since 1973, Lifer since 1996. I see no clear reason not to belong to this organization. Everone is not going to be pleased all the time, but for the most part they have done a good job for many generations. They have been succesfull enough that I still have all of my guns.......And guys/gals this fight has been going on for a long time now. Since the 70's for sure, perhaps earlier. The NRA has stood fast and become what every politacally motivated organization wishes it could be....Nuff said
