Okay...I already went out and bought one, put a 4 recticle
reflex sight on it and in the past 2 days (with the reflex sight) Ive put it to the test. First off, has any of you guys bought one? Shot one? I'd like to hear all the pros and cons from ya'll. Good or bad..let it rip! Before actually going out and spending the big $$$'s on this (Ruger 10/22 inards) Ive read what I think just about every good thing and bad thing. Besides the high $$$ amount on this rifle and from what Ive read about it, such as field stripping the gun, I'd like to hear from you guys...like I said, good or bad..let it all rip! Ive shot close to 1,000 rounds through it, done a TOTAL break-down on it before firing it, field stripped it twice and plan to do some add- on's in the not to distant future. Ive read so much on this rifle and alot was not that good! (especially the high price tag!) After I get ya'lls input (good or bad), I'll tell ya what I have on this rifle, good and bad! Dont be shy...let it rip! Ive went back through what I thought was all the posts through "09" and havent seen anything posted about this rifle in the forum. (but maybe I missed it?)

Neat looking rifle, Zane. You are going to need to bring lots of ammo when you take that out to shoot. One of our local LOE purchased one last year (she was my CCW instructor) and loves it and says it is a fun blast to take to the range.
Thought a bout you and that new rifle when the Old Guys went to the range yesterday to shoot some thing. Was a little windy for long range shooting but had a good time any way.

Thanks Todd.
Yeah, they are a blast to shoot and as far as ammo...one could go thru a bunch of ammo I reckon, but Ive only used the 30rnd clip once at 100 yards after I got it sighted in and put 29 shots in a 3" circle, so it's dead on. And yep, it was real windy yesterday. Between messin around here I think I shot about 15 rounds.

Wonder if anyone has done a comparison yet of the Ruger with the similar Colt and S&W .22 AR types. There are probably others by now.
I'd probably go with the Ruger too. |

The other guy told me that he'd bought the Ruger and loved it with no problems and that also any attachment's/accesories/parts was easy to get. And back to tricking out a 10/22, I had one years ago and was wanting to up-grade it a bit. I bought a synthetic stock for it (can't recall what brand it was now as I didnt have it that long) for the fact that the (pre-formed) tactical rail on it...well went to mount a scope and changed it a few times. After the last time, it was all marred up with the scope ring impressions. I put the original stock back on it and had the (junk) stock sitting for a long time and end up giving it to my nefew...felt bad for even giving it to him. It needed to be destroyed as it almost was after mounting and re-mounting scopes. I wish I could remember the brand on it? ![]()

Hey, whats wrong with a VW or a 10/22 both provide good quality for a fair price.
