Well, I done it!!
For years, my ham hands have felt best with an arched "A2" mainspring housing on my 1911s. Finally, got the nads to upgrade my Premiere II with a Smith & Alexander housing... Feels SO good now. Check it out!! ![]() ![]() ![]()

Now I have a question. Trying to learn more about guns and am amazed at how much I don't know. What is an "arched mainspring housing"?

when you hold a 1911 its the part that rests in the palm of your hand below the grip safety. it houses the mainspring and they come in 2 styles. arched and flat...

I've got the arched also. Pushes the hand up for a higher grip.

Hey Rigger!!
That's what I'm talkin' bout... so glad you posted a pic of that Officer model so I could gander at how the stainless arched would look. My little Para Carry would look WAY similar except for them rattler grips. Nice touch!! Last edited by SmokyBaer; 04-30-2010 at 08:36 AM.. |

Those rattler grips are sweet. I bet that pistol would look wicked nice with a set of scroll pewter grips...
