Looks like you got that up close and personal stuff down pat. You just had to take all those macro shots using the new hog killer didn't you. That is one beautiful pistol. I was telling some of the old guys about it Tuesday and relating the ballistics you had listed, just awesome. Bet that pistol really opens some eyes when you all get together at the end of the month. You folks have one great time and take that new camera so some of us who can't be there can get a feel for the times you all have.

Thanks to all the camera help I received at the forum I've been taking photos of my gun inventory and filing in that "Gunsafe" program that was recommended. I also downloaded Google's Picasa which works great modifying photos and adding text. Every thing has come from this forum, ain't it great.

Nice photos. If you don't mind a couple questions? How do you like the rear sight? Wide shallow V. I have trouble seeing the top of my rear sight (old eyes) so elevation is problematic. And what's the finish on your gun? I like that (other colors?). Or if these have already been covered, direct me to the posts? Thnx

What frame did you use for this 1911? I noticed it had rails on it.

I absolutely love the express sights. Thay line up fast and are very precise.
The finish is brownells Gunkote, its made by KG gunkote and packaged for brownells, and they have several colors to choose from.

It is indeed an Essex frame and slide. I bought it because it had the rails and i was thinkin about a build anyway, and the price was right

Wow! I didn't know Gunkote could look so good. Thanks for the info, I'll look in Brownell's for an Express rear sight for my RIA.

It does shoot well and isn't nearly as imposing as it looks thanks to the muzzle brake. Solid recoil, but very manageable. It was a treat to shoot !! Just had to take the opportunity to rub it in a little...... Can't wait to do it again!

I thought I would be tired of OD green after 30 years of Army life, but I love it on that pistol!! I may look into some of it and put it on my CZ-82 that needs to be refinished anyway.

I picked up a rusty little rogue 17hmr for JR for next to nothin. Its a little too rusted to be reblued so itll get flat blacked and OD greened with GUNKOTE. Itll match well with the laminate stock too
