Remington 760 Gamemaster Sling Swivel

Hello all I have a question about my remington 760 gamemaster, I am trying to mount a sling on my rifle however I cant seem to find the correct end cap with sling mount. The one i purchased is for early Game masters pre 64 but My is one of the first series does not fit. I have attached pictures of my exact setup that I clipped from another post any help is greatly appreciated!

The one you show Mikes pre 68 looks to be for a Rem 742 woodmaster deluxe. They may have sent you the wrong item.

You do have a pre-1968 end cap for a Rem 760, however this end cap is for the pre-1968 Rem 760 with the "free floated" barrel while your 760 barrel is the "pre-free floated" barrel model (has a support between the end cap and the barrel), so it won't fit.

I have the same "pre-free floated" 760 model (in .300 sav) and I mounted a "barrel band" sling swivel kit. For the "pre-free floated" barrel model, a band kit for a Rem 7600 will fit or any barrel band kit measuring between .640 and .675 will fit as it's depicted in my attached 760 barrel picture. Mounting it in this location will prevent the sling swivel from 'tapping' the end cap & causing noise in a hunting situation. Any Marlin type barrel band sling within the demensions I've listed will work as well.

I'm looking now for a pre-68 model 760 pump in 30-06 cal. carbine 18 1/2 barrel, sling swivel. I had the right set up on my .270 18 1/2" Pump, I let it get away from me. I've found some with the right bolt that replaces the factory one but the shipping is higher than the price of the swivels. Say $13.00 and the shipping $14.00. That is unreal. I'll keep looking.
