I have an 12 gauge 870 Turkey gun and a Nobel 70 in .410
I'm happy with my 870 for now, but really haven't shot it much. I have shot lots of 870's at work and have never had a problem.
I've haven't gotten a chance to shoot the .410 yet as it was recently given to me.

I had a 1950 Rem 870 Wingmaster 12 gauge with a full choke and loved that ole girl. She was stollen a few years back and I've been kinda looking around for another since. Sure wish I could get my hands on one. I also have a 1961 870 Wingmaster in 16 gauge and modified. I do a lot of rabbit hunting with it.

I just bought my uncles shotgun as he passed away. He had a Winchester 1200 12ga. I have some questions, this is what my barrell says:

Winchester--- Model -1200-12GA.- 2 3/4 CHAM.
Made in USA ------ Winchester Proof Steel------
MOD.

With a 28" barrell, What was the Original Model 1200 size barrell. I have no idea what rifled means, everyone is telling me its better to have...

Ithaca Model 37 Military and Police. 18" barrel, 8 round tube... Marvelous! It was one of those that used to be clamped to the dash of Police Cars back in the 60's and 70's. You know, where they keep their laptops now... Boy, how times have changed. It sits under my bed cocked and locked.

Well, I have my newest shottie...a 35 yr old Wingmaster......bought NIB back then by my son and daughter for a b-day/daddy's day gift. Then there is my 20 ga. M-12 Winnie field gun (1928) and my 12 ga. Winnie trap gun (1937) with a left-hand Anton stock. Then there's the old Stevens 520 and the $50 (50yr old) 870 behind the door home defence gun. And then there's the....never mind. I like good old pump shotties

The Ithaca Model 37 Military and Police. Easy to carry & made to
slam fire all the bad guys if you train for that.

BTW: Ithaca is doing well & making more parts for the OL 37 everyday. I got a
new 20" TAC barrel for one of my 8 shots last Winter for $200.00

I have one of each, a 12 Ga. Mossberg 500 (on top) and a 12 Ga. Rem. 870 (below the Mossy). Both have 18 1/2" barrels are great shooters and perform flawlessly. I've also got a ported 24" vent ribbed barrel with Accu-chokes for the Moss. 500 when it's not pulling HD duty.

In addition to the 12 Ga. guns I also have a 20 Ga. Mossberg 500 with a 28" modified choke barrel that has been my game getter since 1966. It's never failed me in any way and is as accurate of a shotgun as you could ever hope for.

Yeah, I don't need all that other silly stuff hanging on any of my guns. I'm a run & gun kind of guy, and all that bolt on stuff will just slow me down.

The 870 has an XS Big Dot Night Sight on it for good nightime visibility and that's all I need. The Mossberg has a nice green fiber optic bead sight in the front that works great too.

My brother uses a Mossberg 500, it seems to shoot fine, the action is smooth, but the recoil is a little... well, little isn't quite the right word, but that thing KICKS.
