Do a simple forum search as this has been covered many times. Here is a good thread to start off with.

No problem. I have had great luck with a couple Savage bolt guns and even a Ruger 77/22 after a little accuracy work.

I'm a Marlin fanatic

With the Marlins, all ya need to do is a fast trigger job (30 min) or slap in a Rifle Basix trigger...and then figure out which ammo is the most precise.

Those Micro-groove Marlin barrels are capable of more precision than ballard...for a good reason.

i have a savage mark 2 with the thumb hole stock and heavy barrel. the stock is a perfect fit to me (i am of a pretty average build). it seems to be quite accurate, and i definitely love the accu-trigger. the only down side is that the particular model that i got did not come with iron sights.

Well I'm actually down to one bolt action .22lr rifle right now and, as got rid of the others to work on owning more of the semi-autos and lever's.
The one I do have left in bolt action is the Ruger 77/22, and there's a reason I kept it...

I revised my interest in the .22 about two years ago. I find my Savage MKII F, MKII FV & my new TRR to be very accurate & smooth. I shot the TRR along side my buddies CZ this afternoon & both shot MOA at 100 yds. He used Fiocchie subsonic 38 gr & I used CCI 40 gr subsonic ammo. I was very pleased with the results. I really like the Savage MKII line of .22 bolt rifles.

Steve, you need to look at CMP sales www.thecmp.org This is a civilian marksmanship program that also sells military firearms. They also happen to have two models of military bolt action 22's. Some are new, I think you'll find the web sight interesting. Good hunting
