I have a Marlin Model 60 and want to put a good, not too expensive scope on it for plinking. What do you suggest?

I have a Simmons 3 X 9 X 32 .22 Mag. with A.O. on my 10/22 that is an awesome scope. They go for about $65.
I also recently got a Center Point 3 X 9 X 32 .22 Rimfire scope from Walmart for my old Remington 512 bolt-action that is doing a great job. They go for about $54. It has an illuminated mil-dot reticle that I really like. Seems solid and holds zero very well. Just be sure to get a .22 Rimfire style scope with objective set at 50 yards, or go with an adjustable objective scope (A.O.) like the Simmons. ![]()

Walmart sells a Centerpoint 4-16x mil-dot scope for around $70 - very nice for the money.

I have a couple Bushnell Banner scopes that I like. For an inexpensive scope, they're pretty decent. |

![]() Although the coyotes in my area hate it...hehehehe ![]() I found it to be overkill for my model 60 (technically a 99-G), which rarely shoots over 100 yards for any reason. So it's got a Centerpoint 3x9 on it ![]()

Wow, you got a real good price on that Simmons. You won't be sorry, it's a real good scope. The A.O. feature works real well.
Good shooting!!! ![]()

I put a centerpoint 3-9x32 on a Ruger 77/22 and a 4-16 on a REM .243 and
for the price, you can go wrong. I havent had any problems yet with either. Put a tasco 3-9x40 on a Marlin .22 MAG and it works great and the BSA's are pretty good as well.

Cheap 3-9x40 Barska on my 36 year old Marlin 60. I shot this target at 50 yards day before yesterday. Nephew has been shooting this gun for a month without cleaning it. I just took it off the rack, used bulk ammo and fired 10 shots rapid fire out of a cold gun off a rest, no scope adjustment first and it apparently is holding its zero alright from the last time I shot it 6 months ago. In fact the last time I adjusted it was right after shooting a 100 yard match with it last September.
[IMG] [/IMG]Lot of people make fun of the Marlin 60 and even more fun of the cheap Barska but if it works why mess with it.
