I know it is worthless -
I know it has no purpose on earth with the possible exception of intimidation. But when you take this thing outside, grasp it by the edge and give it a spinning sideways throw with the spin TOWARD the point direction, those blades pop open from cintrifugal force, and this thing chops into the weeds before loosing momentum and dropping to the ground - And for just a moment, you feel like 'Blade' on a mission - - Honestly, if kept razer sharp it CAN inflict wounds - More than one of those Kung Fooie throwing stars, but not nearly as good as a regular throwing knife, which is deadly in the right hands.

That's pretty cool Terry! Wish you would've taken a picture w/ a coin or dollar bill to compare size. If I may, what's the outside diameter of it when open , & how much did you have to give for it? Sorry 'bout the questions, but I gotta git me 1 of those!

![]() What makes it so bad to own 1 of those Jack? I always thought it was the bigger, the better when it came to blade ownership down under. Are the knife laws really strict?SR

I'm no expert or anything of the sorts on this subject, but here in my area, you can buy just about anything at the flea-markets.
Heck, Ive bought several gun at the flea markets, indoor/outdoor and no background check, no nothing! Last summer a friend called me up from and indoor (flea market) and said to get over here, they had an M16 for sale...I drove like a bat outta heck to get there and as I walked up to the both, a man was already buying the M16...I observed and all I hear and seen was this guy giving the owner $1400 cash! Nothing else! ![]()

Illegal in Australia?
Good GRIEF, Jack - Keep up the good fight, mate - It is 4" diameter closed, and with all blades open and locked, it is almost 9" diameter (the ads say 8, but they are wrong - ). The blades lock in position and must be released to close. It was bought for me from a flea market - I found them for sale on-line in different colors and even on e-bay. One of the ads is HERE for 10 bucks.

The main problem with it is a simple matter of physics.
Thrown with a HIGH speed of rotation so the blades will pop open in flight, the rotational speed is greatly reduced when the blades DO open due to the law of conservation of angular momentum - Sort of like a figure skater spreading their arms in a spin to slow their spin down. Yet, the only damage done is from the sharpened edge on the INSIDE of the blades, so it is rotational speed that is critical - But you gotta love the look!

I like it.
Now I will have to see if I can find one to get a "hands on" feel of it.

Interesting weapon. Has a similar look to the Glave, the weapon used in the 1983 movie, Krull.

I have something similar to that. It's got 5 blades, silver with a black dragon in the middle. I'm scared to throw it though cause when it arrived it was super sharp and I cut myself with it the first time I opened one of the blades.
