Default Berry's Mfg Hardcast bullets

I'm new to loading for the 1873 springfield trapdoor and looking for affordable bullets till I can get into casting my own.
I have heard that the hardcast bullets in general (20 bhn ?) don't take the rifleing well and will keyhole. I wonder if anyone has tried Berry's 405 gn
hardcast in the trapdoor?
My first try was with Montana Precision Swaging's 405 gn hollow base sized to 458. Don't know the hardness there but they worked well. However, they seem awful expensive.
I'd appreciate any thoughts or advice.

Thanks

I did try the Berry's hardcast.
It seems strange no one else has, or had any comment on the hardness question.
Well, I'm new to the forum idea. Maybe I posted in the wrong place.

I use Oregaon Trail Laser Cast Bullets for my Pedersoli Rolling Block. I use the 405 grain bullets and they seem to do really well. Cost is around $60/500

I have some 405 grain Berrys copper plated bullets load for the rolling block but I have not shot them yet.

I'll have to try the trail lasers. They should do well in the trapdoor too- I hope, anyway.
That sure is a great price.
I hope those plated bullets work out for you.
