NOT TO BE TAKEN AS LEGAL ADVISE.

Taken from the following site...
http://www.knife-expert.com

Nevada - Crimes against public health and safety. 202.350.
1. It is unlawful for a person within this state to:
(a) Manufacture or cause to be manufactured, or import into the state, or keep, offer or expose for sale, or give, lend or possess any knife which is made an integral part of a belt buckle or any instrument or weapon of the kind commonly known as switchblade knife...
(b)... carry concealed upon his person any...
(2) Dirk, dagger or machete... [A 1995 amendment substituted "machete" in this subsection for "dangerous
knife."]
(4) Knife which is made an integral part of a belt
buckle...
2. It is unlawful for a person to possess or use a:
(a) Nunchaku or trefoil with the intent to inflict harm upon the person of another...
5. As used in this section...
(e) "Trefoil" means an instrument consisting of a metal plate having three or more radiating points with sharp edges, designed in the shape of a star, cross or other geometric figure and used as a weapon for throwing.

Wikipedia says possesion is allowed "by permit" in Nevada. They have a basic breakdown by state and information on federal law under the search term "switchblade".

That is incredibly lame...

I can carry a loaded pistol all over town, but I cannot even own an "automatic" knife...

Those knife laws are an example of "feel-good" legislation that dim-witted politicians could use to show an equally dim-witted populace that they had a handle on gang violence.

Instead of actually doing anything, they could outlaw folding knives that open under spring pressure and brass knuckles. Suddenly the neighborhood is safe, the people are happy and the politician can go meet with some lobbyists and do something really important.

This was back in the "West Side Story" days and so it was obvious that without switchblades, there would be no gangs. Ninety years before that it was Bowie knives that were legislated against.

Paring knives, butcher knives, boning knives, filleting knives, carpet knives, cheese knives, rolls of quarters, baseball bats, sharpened screw drivers, zip guns, nail guns, lengths of pipe, bar iron, steam irons, bricks, long necked botties, automobiles and sticks must not have been invented yet because we were not made safe from them.

Here in KS you can pull out a badge or a military i.d. and the Snap-On Tool man will sell you a swichblade. Everybody else has to use one of the above.

Stop with the logic already. It's making far too much sense, it has no place in our laws...

For laws relating to switchblade knives, and knives in general, for the various states, you may find this site useful:

Nope, I checked. No laws against golf clubs. Going out to the shop to cut some down for concealed carry.

Nevada can be strange in its laws and while I am familar with the NRS statute that Pickenup mentioned, one of the local guns shops here in town has all kinds of switchblade knifes for sale. I have never asked why only because I don't care. As an example NRS 200.471 is our assault statute which says that if you point a gun at another it is a felony. Where as NRS 202.290 provides that if you aim a gun at another and shot it but you miss it is a misdemeanor. Go figure!!! I might add that Nevada incarcerates more people per capita than any other state meaning it is NOT the place to be a screw-up, as OJ just learned one can be convicted of kidnapping while never removing the victim from their home.

All these switchblade laws are outdated and ridiculous. They should be looked at and changed. Alot of people would love to collect them, and they would generate much money in this country!
