Handled a Marlin 795 today. Very light. My daughter is very petite and standard guns just don't fit her right and the youth guns are too small.
She was able to handle it quite well. My question. What other models are comparable to the 795? (weight and price) Most reviews of the 795 are not that bad for a hundred dollar gun. What say you? os

What about the marlin-60 at WallyWorld for $147.00.The gun stock is longer than a youth size and is still lightweight. And also, you don't have to buy extra mags for it and it holds more than 10,the capacity of the model-795.Plus the model 60 is a time tested classic.

I know the 60 is proven but I haven't handled one. She was better able to handle the 795 than others we have tried because it is short and light in the barrel.
What are the weight differences between the 60 and the 795? I could go look them up but I know one of you guys know those specs off the top of your head. ![]() What other lightweight guns are out there? os |

I looked it up for you. The 795 weighs 4.5 lb, the model 60 weighs 5.5 lb. Not much difference. My wife is small and she handles a model 60 well. Much better than my 13 lb Anschutz.
Take her to the gun shop and let her handle the model 60 before you make a purchase. It will cost a bit more but IMHO is a better rifle. |
