Default Springfield Champion Range report

The weather cooperated enough for me to get to my backyard range,(I love living in the country), and fire the Champion. On the first day it was more of running ammo through for some break in time. All rounds functioned with no hitch however after range time and cleaning the first round of Critical Defense Ammo would show a hitch in loading and sometimes would not go all the way to battery. An e-mail to SA resulted in a phone call from Jacob, in customer service and he pointed out that SA 1911's are designed to run to battery from full slide open. He asked that I get to the range and try this and let him know as soon as possible and if there was an issue he wanted the firearm back to make it right. Great Service. I was able to get back in the yard soon after and with a variety of ammo from Wolf, Critical Defense, Winchester Silver Tip, & White Box. 100% functioning. The picture shows the best group fired from 10 yards to be slightly left and low. The day was very windy and the resulting picture was me and more firing should stabilize it.
I am very pleased with the Champion and SA customer service. The take down spacer was missing from the box and Jacob promptly had 3 of them in my hand with in 3 days. This made dis-assembly much easier. He was also able to tell me that my full size that I CCW qualified with in 1995 and do not intend to part with was a transition from 1990 model to the mil-spec and the day it was assembled. Great personal service. I am trying to attach some pics. Have a great day all.
