Uploaded with ImageShack.us[/IMG]Not the most accurate gun in the house but it accounted for over 600 jack rabbits in 2 years in New Mexico. This is at 25 yards with my old H&R 9 shot 22 revolver, first handgun I ever bought back in 1970. I had dogs at home, sometimes I was feeding up to 9 dogs at a time, never less than 3 dogs, jack rabbits were a large part of their diet.

I have a before and after, I posted this rifle after I got the stock, but every time I looked at it I thought I know I can make it look better!
So one night I was looking at it and before I knew what happened, I had half the finish sanded off! It only took about 39 to 40 minutes and it was done. So this is before, ,And this is after 20 coats of Tru-oil and wet sanding with 2000 grit paper then polished with some stuff called plast-X. It works like scratch-X but is a finer abrasive that breaks down quickly, ,I think it looks a little better than when I first got it! Doug |

My latest BRJ 22 LR. Had it accurized, it now shoots in the .1"'s on a good day when I do my part.
Savage is making one of the better rifles in their price range right now, which is good for us retired people with a limited amout of money to spend. Great accuracy and I can still afford to buy Alpo, don't have to get the store brand ![]() Target is 5 shots @ 50 Yds. Measured correctly to the outside of the grease marks it's .114", and no, I don't shoot from the stand holding the rifle. John K ![]() ![]() Last edited by dksac2; 01-24-2011 at 11:27 AM.. |

Nice to see a picture of one. No an expensive or high quality rifle, but it took a lot of small game. Thanks for the trip down memory lane ![]() John K |

The Win. 190 was also my first rifle! My Dad bought it for me at an auction for $30 when I was 16. It still shoots great and maybe one day I too will pass it on to some deserving youngster. I remember carrying this through my neighborhood to go shooting in the woods behind a friends house, you cant do that kind of thing anymore that's for certain. My how times have changed!

JLA,
You've got good eyes. Yes those are 5MM Remigton casings. So here ya go agenuine 591 Remington 5MM magnum. Still the most powerfull rimfire, 30 gr. bullet at 2,400 fps. And it makes a smaller hole in the air and carries it's velocity farther down range. will penetrate a coyote at 125 yds. and out the backside... It wants for a nicer rifle, I have thought about building a heavy barrel version with a 541T stock, if I could find one. Brian Volkner and I have talked about a build... ![]() topped with a vintage Weaver K-6 micro track, still great even today IMHO... Regards, Kirk Last edited by 300 H&H; 01-30-2011 at 03:06 PM.. |

I have not had it out in a while, gonna have to take it part clean and lube it and go shoot some little varments I can still go to a friends just a little way from here and shoot, just too darn cold. That's the good thing about Idaho. I live just in the city limits, but get outside of the city limits and shoot on private land with permission or forest land all you want.John K |
