I recently purchased a Remington R1 1911 style 45 ACP. I want to buy additional magazines. Will any of the 7 round 1911 after market magazines fit this gun? Magazines are much cheaper if they fit from online suppliers as compared to Remington magazines. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Any magazine for a full-sized 1911 will work in it. Wilson Combat makes about the best ones. I used the regular stainless Kimber ones because I like the flat bottom as opposed to the bumper pads.

I have both Chip McCormick and Wilson Combat magazines I use in my Sig. Although they both function with no problems I like the McCormicks better. They seem to be a more sturdy magazine.
Josh, I haven't forgot about brass for you. I had shoulder surgery again on the opposite side as last year and haven't and won't be able to shoot for quite awhile.

The thing that has sold me on the exclusive use of McCormick mags is the follower design. It allows the easy disassembly of the solid floor plate magazines for cleaning. Yet the mag doesnt some apart in use. And is utterly reliable, even when caked with dirt and cartride soot. Again, because of the genious follower design..

Just don't buy the cheap surplus mags, they're junk. You WILL have feeding problems.

Greetings everyone! Are you guys who are using McCormick mags using the Power Mags or the regular ones? I want to pick up a couple of 8 round mags for my R1.

Im using both. The shooting star mags are just as good as the power mags. The only difference is the power mags have an extra power follower spring and are designed for the CCW market..
Both are fantastic mags..
