Default Range Day

Don't know if this is the correct place to put this... But after reading about when was the last time I went to shoot, I went and cleaned my weapon and got out to the range today.

Here are my targets. I was shooting American Eagle 230gr FMJ. The groups started out a little wide, but I was trying to practice not flinching when I pulled the trigger. Trying to get used to not letting my finger all the way off. Keeping both eyes open and focusing on where my front sight is aiming and working on proper grip and stance. I think overall I am starting to get a little better. All targets were from 20'.

What I also found odd was that I experienced two jams while I was using my stainless Kimber magazines only. It was almost like one round tried to feed before the next round was ejected. Did not experience this with the factory Springfield magazines.

Looks pretty good to me hogger. I hope I can do as well tomorrow.

Sorry I have no experience with Kimber's magazines. I have a bunch of mixed and no name mags I use at the range but when it matters I go with Wilson Combat Mags.

I give it a . Now we both just need to take some photography lessons from CrpD and we'll be set . I would take Todd's advice and pick up a few WC mags and do a comparison test with them.

You're groups are tightning up.

Now, stop jerking the trigger. Press it with constant pressure. It should be a surprise when the weapon fires.

Hogger,
I've experienced something similar. I found that if I periodically clean the soot from under the magazine lips, by pushing down the follower and using a soft cloth, it eliminates this type of jam. I wipe them down about every 50 rounds or so. Just a quick pass with the cloth is all it takes, and I only clean down about 1/2 inch. I'm sure it has to do with slick full power ammo and slick magazines plus soot.

Nice shootin' by the way! Thanks for sharing.
