Anyone familiar with the USA Ammo? I see it is very cheap online. Does anyone have any first hand experience shooting this ammo? Does USA provide prompt shipment? I don't reload and am having to buy my bullets. I am just trying to find the least expensive, decent source of ammo. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

White box? If it's not a name ripoff it's factory Winchester ammo and is fine to shoot. If it's some brand ripoff, then who knows?

No, it's not Winchester White Box.
http://www.usaammo.com/ Ain't never used any, myself. But the big cost of factory ammo is the brass. Remington and Winchester and them use new brass. USA is factory reloads. They buy used brass from shooting ranges. Cuts their cost down, so their prices are lower.

USA has new stuff listed on their site too. The reman stuff is a bit cheaper but most calibers have a choice of new brass or range brass.
I've eyeballed it before but I haven't tried any yet. Prices seem okay and there are a few load options besides just plain old FMJ |

Works great, I already asked this question with no response so I took a shot in the dark (no pun intended) 500 rounds 9mm through a Hi-Power & Defender no problems.
500 rounds of 38 no problems. 500 rounds of 45 ACP no problems, all FMJ. Now I have never been a fan on reloads but during this economy I thought I'd give it a shot. http://www.thefirearmsforum.com/showthread.php?t=92261 Last edited by ka64; 08-03-2011 at 07:12 AM.. |

They are/were running a special with a place called Gearhog. You bought a $50 coupon from Gearhog and you got $100 worth of ammo from USAmmo. Based on what I've been reading on a couple of local GA forums, their system was messed up and ammo wasn't being shipped in a timely manner. Also, at least some batches or their .223 ammo was over loaded resulting in kabooms.
I'd recommend caution...

I am just trying to find a reasonably priced source for 9mm, 45 ACP and 40 caliber. I buy the UMC Mega Packs (250 rounds)at Walmart when they are available. They are cheap enough at Walmart but they don't conistently carry them.

USA Ammo is fine......
Quality is good. Even the range brass reloads well. Most of us that reload would only have a problem if we needed new brass for certain loads...... otherwise even we reload brass that has been fired......... Just like us reloaders......USA Ammo inspects and cleans their range brass just as we would our own..... Buy it....shoot it.....you will like it...... if not, send it to me........... ![]() ![]() [I'll send you some hot peppers I got from Donny in return] ![]()

Ammo prices are a big reason to reload. I have had my equipment for several years and enjoy reloading as well as shooting. I can load a box of .45's for about $6 per 50. Same really for just about any caliber I load. Brass is your problem really, just start saving the stuff. Check some of your pals, if they reload they may let you work alongside them. It sure beats Wally World and Gander prices.
A fairly decent setup for a single caliber should less than $100! Books, Books, Books!! Read first, then reload. |

For me, the greatest reason to load your own, is accuracy.
