Just picked up my first luger don't know much about ruger's just want to know if I got a good deal and maybe a little history on it so as far As I know all parts are matching with the number 10 exept the mag. also says byf on the top and there is also a couple small eagles or some kinda bird some one told me it was some kinda Nazi emblem or somthing. I only have two pics right now but will put more up soon any info on this gun would be awesome don't plan on selling but would like to know an aprox value

Sorry, your pictures didn't come through, at least to me. The "10" doesn't indicate manufacture in 1910. If the front receiver ring has 1910 on it, then the gun is a parts gun since the "byf" (Mauser code) indicates WWII era manufacture.

The date on military Lugers appears only on the receiver ring; the only number appearing multiple times is the serial number, which could, of course, be 19xx and look like a date.
The full serial number should be on the front of the grip frame and should be four digits with a German style letter below. The letter is part of the serial number. If it is a military gun, the date of manufacture should be on the top of the receiver ring. I am looking forward to pictures I can see. Jim |
