Default An urgent call to action

Just received this article in an email from a local tea party member. This blatant attack on the rights of this young woman warrants the support of all freedom loving Americans. I hope you'll consider flooding the Lakewood Ohio police chief's and mayors office with demands to return the ladies guns.

From a member in one of my many groups, I got this following notice.
Please consider a few minutes to make a call and ask pertinent questions.
~TW

-------------------------------------

Folks, I'm putting out the call to action as a Lakewood resident.

http://www.clevescene.com/scene-and-...motive-pending

A young female veteran had a large portion of her legally owned and licensed firearms confiscated by the Lakewood police department for no apparent reason whatsoever. Read the Article and then Call Chief Timothy Malley at 216-521-6773 and let him know that, at the very least, he needs to release a press statement detailing the motive behind the confiscation. If the officers just confiscated the weapons, without her even being there, on the notion that she was somehow presenting a dangerous situation to the community, then they are in the wrong and need to apologize and return her weapons immediately.
Police Chief Timothy Malley 216-521-6773
Law Director Kevin Butler 216-529-6030
Mayor Michael Summers 216-529-6600
City Council 216-529-6055
- Scotty
MAKE A CALL NOW!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So as you can see, there is need for people to call asking questions.
We must demand answer's. I know I can count on your effort in this.

There has to be more to the story than this. If the article contained all the information, the Ohio Attorney General would be pressing charges against those police officers.

Yeah, It's a nice collection and they want to keep it. I'm sure everyone in the department has staked their claim to the one they want. It's a free cashe to them if you don't force them to give'm back and it's messed up that she should even have to.
Don't get me wrong, I'm no cop hater but wrong is wrong, right?

Have to agree though, the time involved here and buttoned lips (from both sides) are indicative of more beneeth the surface.

this is why you shouldn't register your guns. registration is the final step before confiscation, as this young lady has unfortunately learned.

and this is 100% correct ,

thats what they did here and the UK then came the confiscations and buy backs , then they shot a few to pull the rest into line ...

then the socialists took right over and now only the criminal gangs have guns ( with a few exceptions ) yes we are fighting back and yes we are winning but i been at it now over 15 years fighting back and risking arrest ,

15 years is a long time fighting to get a basic right back and we'll never get them all back ..

once gone , undoing it all is almost impossible , even when God is on your side ..

fight registration as you would confiscation. theres no difference its all part of the same process

DISARMING YOU

We don't actually have gun registration in this state per se other than when you purchase a gun from a licensed FFL, so the use of the word registered in the article is a misnomer. What is meant is that they were all legally owned. About the only way to get around any record of your ownership of a firearm is to only purchase them from private individuals, and then on a cash only basis (some private individuals keep a rcord of sales to others just in case the BATF should ever question them about a guns wherabouts).

I made a number of calls yesterday but was unable to get any information or additional details about this story. The police department denied even knowing who this woman is. The law department did confirm that there is a case pending but that was it.

I have a theory about this though; The one article refers to this woman as being a "disabled" vet. PTSD can be a service connected disability. If I'm not mistaken there was a law that passed a few years ago that, while not prohibiting vets with PTSD from owning firearms, gave law enforcement the option to deny vets with PTSD the right to possess guns. Also, if she happened to be in treatment for PTSD and she gave a therapist or psychiatrist even the slightest indication that she could be a threat to herself or others she could have her guns confiscated...but I had thought that was only by court order.

I know this is sarcasm but I really dont understand it. The NRA or any other org cannot save us and I highly doubt anyone believes that. The anti gunners are pushing thru legislation as we sleep and would probably win many of their cases without the NRA and others standing up and attempting to stop their nonsense. I am not sure if we will have to completely loose our rights before the realization sets in that we need every single bit of help we can get to fight these liberal grabbers. Its way past time to band together. The libs love to create division and they will do whatever it takes. We had better start doing the same. A house divided cannot stand.

My opinion, based on what I read, is that there is more here than we are privy to, otherwise there ought to be a bevy of lawyers standing around her apt. drooling and wringing their hands.

That's where I'd begin. Get lots of lawyers. Unless they're not giving the whole story. She had a Thompson? Wow, most of the women I know don't have gun collections that includes a nice number like that. Get 'er done. TJ
