ok if its a legit medical value , then no , possession of guns should not be curtailed ,

usage / thats another matter .... do you have rules on booze and guns ?

if the dope rules are socialist BS ( i honestly dunno so i think if its legit , its medicine )

then say so and just decriminalise pot , it'll screw up the dealer structure , charge folks a licence fee's and industrial electricity rates so they can grow at home like south australia used to do , pot became boring ..

but if its medical as in medical doctors says this id fact then to block gun ownership is discrimination on medical grounds ( not mental either ) wrong wrong wrong , and wrong

Medical MJ may be legal in some states, but it is still federally prohibited. No issue here as I see the law, clear cut. Don't get mad at ATF, get mad at Congress. They are the ones who passed the law.

no, get mad at all of them. sure, congress may pass the law, but it is individual ATF agents who enforce it. if they didn't enforce it, if they had the backbone to stand up and say, "no, this is wrong, i won't do this", then this country would be a much more pleasant place to live.

+1

Yes we have rules on booze and guns. Here in WI, the law that's about to take effect - it's absolute sobriety. On your own property is another story.

Well...To be (prescribed) marijuana don't you have to visit a (doctor) and be diagnosed with an (ailment) for which marijuana allaegedly provides (relief)? If it is for any kind of a mental condition, you are probably already disqualified from firearm ownership, right?

And, is it just me, or do the states with the most liberal laws concerning marijuana also have the strictest laws concerning gun ownership?

“There are no exceptions in federal law for marijuana purportedly used for medicinal purposes, even if such use is sanctioned by state law,” said the letter by Arthur Herbert, the ATF’s assistant director for enforcement programs and services".

Another example of the erosion of State Sovereignty. Ninth, and Tenth Amendments.

”The powers delegated to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the state governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, [such] as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce. The powers reserved to the several states will extend to all the objects which, in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives, liberties, and properties of the people".

Lamentations Chapter 5:
1. Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.
2. Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.
3. We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers [are] as widows.
5. Our necks [are] under persecution: we labour, [and] have no rest.
16. The crown is fallen [from] our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!
21. Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.

Not sure, but Washington State is vastly liberal. Yet we have open carry, right to conceal carry, and right to defend laws.

Our own LEO's were paramount in trashing this initiative.

http://ballotpedia.org/wiki/index.ph...tive_676_(1997)

And we are currently working on legalization of MJ.

Speaking from personal experience from my youth, I can say without a doubt that smoking or eating pot hightened my awareness levels in all my senses. Stuff tasted, smelled, sounded, looked, felt, etc., better. Reading and learning were greatly enhanced as well.

Alcohol is an entirely different matter, and the two cannot even be compared. Yet we endorse drinking. That's messed up.

I've never seen an angry pot smoker.

The reason the fed won't legalize it is because they would in turn be obligated to legalize growing hemp. Hemp (the wonder plant) is at the heart of the matter. And big money doesn't want to see it happen. Wacky tabacky is the tool they use to see it never happens.

A bit of history: Prior to the 1920's pot and other drugs were legal. But Prohibition of the 1920's outlawed not only booz but pot and various other drugs. Organized crime got rich quick! Al Capone and people like him battled for controle of the illegal booz trade.

When they repealed prohibition only booz was made legal again. I'm not sure why booz was ok but pot was not?

I don't like pot and never did, but I see the costs of regulating the illegal drug trade are far greater than back in the days of Al Capone. The booz gangsters of the 1920's/1930's are nothing compared with the drug lords of today.

Agreed, nothing more than flagrant power mongering by the feds, AGAIN.
