Well I went into my local dealer to pay some more off my layby and was told the Savage I'd ordered was going to be delayed. Apparently they're having trouble getting stock from Savage. So I checked out a few more guns and they had a Marlin 925C on special with a scope thrown in. This rifle felt really good and I'm a big fan of the camo stock. So in the end I'm glad I got to try the Marlin as it feels much more comfortable than the MKIIF (for me). Once my paperwork comes through I'll be picking up the Marlin.

The 925/C is a solid unit eh , a few clubs have them as club gun's as they are just plain out rock solid if a bit stiff off the trigger break when new..
you'll like it .. what scope was chucked in ? and if it aint too rude , how much was the package ? Last edited by jack404; 09-26-2011 at 06:41 AM.. |

Welcome from Iowa Wikky. And be sure and put something in that safe to absorb moisture so you guns don't rust.

Well my permit to aquire turned up in the mail yesterday so I was straight off to pick up my new rifle. I'd finished paying off the layby a few weeks ago so I was pretty keen to get it. (To me, a complete novice) the gun feels nice and balanced to hold and is a great fit for me.
I've only fired about a dozen rounds off at this stage but I'm very impressed with the accuracy. Using open sights I was able to get a group of 5 within 2" at 50m (not resting on anything). It came with a cheap scope which I've taken off as I've bought a better one to put on. I look forward to getting to know it better and at this stage busting a few bunnies! ![]() |
