At least you can head out behind the house and see deer. They haven't made it to the Ak interior yet (about 100 miles into Canada they are). Every time I read a deer post, I wish we had deer here. Moose & caribou season is August & September up this way.
We've been in Alaska almost 20 years now, but had Dutchman around us in Western Pa.; I got along with them fine, were neighbors, but they put a hurtin on the deer too. In Ak we have Indian Villages & Russkie communities; they hunt like the dutchies did back east; 24/7. Good Luck, you'll get some shootin sooner or later. |

Here in WV the season starts Monday during the week of Thanksgiving. I have the Marlin Guide Gun sighted in and ready to go. My Redhawk will also be making the trip with me...can't have too many guns when hunting.

Keep at it. Sooner or later you'll get one in your sights. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

My opening day in Illinois is Friday. Looking at mid-50s with wind. I've got a personal day from work and I don't care what the weather is, I'm going out for a day of hunting.
