Default National Right to Carry passes House

I just read on foxnews.com that National Right to Carry has passed the house by a vote of 272-154. We slightly missed the super majority to avoid a veto, but still good news. Go check out foxnews for the full story, they are running it on the first page of the site.

Thanks, Governor Quinn, you socialist pawn, you spineless tool of the left wing nutjobs. Illinois, the once-proud Land of Lincoln, sticks out on that list like a cowpie in a snowbank. The only state with no concealed carry provision.

Can't wait to get out of here...

Anything to force Illinois' hand at this point. I'm tired of being denied the same rights as citizens in every other state.

The 2nd ammendment has never been a part of any state's constitution. Its a federal right, and we, as citizens of the United States should have no worry of travelling from state to state, across our great country...Firearm at the ready. It is an undeniable right given to us by our forefathers.

CC should be a right at 18. And a permit should not be required I firmly believe that.

I refuse to cross the state line into Illinois, even for Fast Eddie's, which hurts but sacrifices must be made...

Illinois folks need to start voting for the right folks for their state government, looks like. The state's purt near flat broke as it is...

There are a lot of lies going about concerning this bill. Go to this site, print it out and use it to see and spread the truth:

http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/BILLS-1...112hr822rh.pdf

If you are not otherwise prohibited from having and carrying fire arms
and
you have a local CCW
and
you have valid picture ID
and
the State you are presently in (visiting) has provisions for CCW or does not prohibit CCW
then
you may carry legally in that State by obeying all the provisions that State requires of their own citizens to be issued a CCW.

The bill also calls for the GAO to perform an audit of the various State laws concerning CCW
and
the number of resident CCW permits which have been issued, the number of resident CCW permits which have been rejected
and
the number of non-resident CCW permits issued and the number of non-resident permits which have been rejected
and
the effectiveness of such State laws and regulations in protecting the public safety.
This audit is to be delivered to Congress not later than one year after the enactment of the Act.

That''s all folks, There is not more after that.

Seriously doubt that will happen unless something can convince Chicago to vote differently. They control what happens in Springfield.

Of course, St Clair and Madison co's aren't great, either. Costello inherited the Touchette political machine and I am sure whoever is picked to follow him will have the benefit of the political machine. The dead in East St Louis will turn any vote around in these counties. Combine that with the redistricting wars going on which will cost Illinois a few Repub. reps in the US House and I don't think the liberals have anything to worry about.

Now, as that is written, it is gray as whether you have to comply with some or all of the qualifications of the State you are visiting.

That means that, if I visit a State that requires 4 days of training and a proficiency test with the particular firearm I'm concealing, my WA permit might not be good enough to give me reciprocity, as WA thinks my military training is sufficient for that.

With the prez's good buddy, Ron Emanuel, now mayor there, Chicago's likely to stay the way it is for a very long time.

armed and safe, that bill looks like it will not change anything. I can still carry in a bunch of states that recognize my indiana permit.

In Tenneesse it cost me $150 and took three months even with my police training and background but it is worth it to protect me and mine. I do not take going armed lightly I realilize the responsibilities and reprocusions that go with the permit.

One thing I was told was that only use factory ammo in case somebody sues you for shooting them with a reload..bunch of bovine scatology if you ask me.

Unknown, at this time. It has passed only the House. It still has to pass the Senate, without amendments (very unlikely) and be signed by Obama (very, very unlikely.)

The crooks and "nut jobs" do not need a permit for concealed carry, so why have one for the everyday guy?

It's called "Control and Contain."

I'll be very surprised if this bill gets through the Senate. Just not enough pro-gun votes there. We'll keep our fingers crossed, hope that I'm wrong.

No chance to get through the senate, and even less than none to get signed by the president.
