I have shot about 2 or 3000 rounds through my buckmark pistol when finally the firing pin broke. Is this about average life span for a firing pin on the browning buckmark? Just curious anyway I have ordered two for replacement.

it's a bit light i'll grant you , 5,000-10,000 is the expected range of life for them
did it BREAK or just chip off the face ? how often did you strip down and clean including where the pin sit's and travels ?? Last edited by jack404; 11-23-2011 at 01:38 AM.. |

I thought it had worn out. I ordered 2 more firing pins from Midway. I measured the old firing pin and wouldn't you know it it measured 1.820 inches same as the new one. What I did next was to soak the firing pin housing part in solvent for a couple of hours, than ran some pipe tobacco cleaners and dental floss through the opening. Problem solved. The next day I fired several hundred rounds without a hitch. Because of this I am now thinking of buying a sonic cleaner.
