Default '94 Winchester

A friend of mine traded a Marlin 30-30, even, for a model 94 Winchester classic with octagon barrel. Serial # 3053649.
He would like to know when it was manufactured.
And of course, like most folks, he would like to know what it is worth. It is not beat up, but it "is" faded, from one end to the other.

Thanks

Mule

Mule, number 3,000,000 was assembled in 1970. If that's the correct serial number, it was made sometime between that and 1974.

TRAP55, thanks for the information.

It "is" the correct serial number. It is 53,649 numbers before 3,000,000.

I went ahead and called Winchester, and talked to their historian. The gun was manufactured in 1966.

According to the 15th edition of Modern Gun Values, it was "introduced in 1967 ; discontinued 1970."

You lost me, how can 3,053,649 be 53,649 before 3,000,000? If it was before 3,000,000the serial # would be 2,946,351.

I lost you alright. You are way ahead of me. I apologize for my ignorance. I must of been off in another world.

At anyrate Winchester says it was manufactured in 1966. Unless I did something wrong there too. That is possible.

Thanks for being so kind.

Hello,

Serial number 3053649 was not manufactured in the year 1966. The correct date of manufacture is 1970.
