Default 'Mythbusters' cannonball hits minivan in Dublin

I seem to be obsessing about war ammunition ... so sorry. But I thought this might be of interest. This is a local item in the SF Bay Area. Dublin is about 30 miles ESE of San Francisco and Mythbusters is a cable TV show. See http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/articl...BA1D1M99V5.DTL

YIKES!!

I bet this cuts down on the number of their more... explosive episodes.

Can you spell 'lawsuit'?

In the South, folks would be selling tickets to come see the hole in their house.

In California, there will be years of therapy and counseling to overcome the horror of nearly being hit. I can smell the lawyers lining up.

Question: Man, woman, and child slept through it all as the cannonball tore through their house. At 4:15 in the afternoon?

LOL!

My wife and I were laughing recently that most of the commercials on TV these days are for a new drug to make us feel happy, or for a law firm that wants to sue the drug company because we're not happy.

I can already hear the new ads:

"Have you or a loved one been injured in a car accident? Did you get too much mustard on your hamburger? Has someone looked at you strangely? Did you or someone you know take Happy Pills? Have you been traumatized by a cannonball hitting your home? We're here to help. Call Dewey, Screwum, and Howe today."

That's what happens when they consult that retired FBI agent every time they make something go boom at the range.

Wow. I have to agree there's going to be a plethora of lawsuits. Unfortunate.

I don't believe it.

Thru a brick wall, corner bank off a hillside, 700 yard later went thru the front door and UP the stairs? Then went thru a wall, crossed six lane of traffic, and bounced off a roof, and slammed into a minivan.

Forgive me. If a six inch projectile come thru my front door, up to the 2nd floor and out the wall, and the dust from the sheet rock woke me up?

Really?

lower velocity artillery does just that. The only thing I do not believe is the sheet rock dust.

bad choice of location , you need a deep quarry or something , ... cannon balls are notorious for bouncing

a demo they did here had one bounce off one rock and change direction about 30 degree's then hit another rock and divert again another 30 or so heck if it'd a hit a couple more it'd be heading back at ya ..

and these where supposed experts ..

Now try to imagine the damage these iron balls did when they hit what they were aimed at! Awesome firepower!

I love that show also and the two intrepid hosts make this story very believable to me.
