It is a shame but that in a way is exactly what the feds are saying when you need a special tax stamp to have a rifle or shotgun under 16 inches long. And that in my opinion makes the feds a bunch of pinheads

The shape of things to came? In the UK with the restrictive gun laws the large number of gun enthusiasts still like to collect them, thus the growth of the de activated market. Take a look at this site, there are several but this is a good example. In particular note 'handguns' under the SHOP section, via 'deactivated weapons'. The owner is a friend and nice guy.

www.dwsuk.org

As I have said before, I can see and agree with deactivation of old, low value collectables, but some of the deacts do seem a bit of a broken pencil, pointless.

I've seen loads of old shotguns that aren't safe to fire that would make a great wall hanger. Maybe an early series 1903 that had the soft metal would be good too.

I guess the question is, would you need an FFL to buy the lamp?

Disagree totally. I would have not been able to see that old gun, and the imagination that went into saving it, hopefully, for the grand-kids. It's a first for me, and I think it's pretty slick. +1

It was started today by a new member. Probably looking around, and found something of interest to him / her. Yep, old thread, but the gun's still neat.
