Default 1950 Model 70 .270 W.C.F

Firstly would like to say hello & nice forum.
I have read lot's and see that it is a good community here.

I have a Winchester Model 70 .270 W.C.F
Not sure what WCF means.
Grandfather has had it for many years riding horseback & hunting.
It has not been cleaned or shot in about 20yrs.
Was in sock inside leather

Serial 1550xx
Would like to get a idea of value & if I should sell or keep hold of it. As I have no interest with The rifle at this time. I will defiantly keep the sears 12g though Which I believe is worth about 150.

I hope I have given enough info to Help give a idea.
Here is some photo's sorry for the lighting it wasn't good weather to go outside for pics. Some have flash Some do not.

Also any information of the year of this Rifle would be appreciated.
TIA.

Photo's on Picasa

Ignore my Wife in the first few pics It's her first time holding Guns. So we got carried away taking some pics.

Any info & also any suggestions on a Kit for cleaning? As I have had these in A Safe at a friends for the past 10yrs.
Thanks again.

That is a shooter-grade post-war Model 70. It is out of the collector interest field due to condition, removal of the sights and the undoubted finish issues under that slip-on pad.

$500-$700 as a shooter, or as the worth of the barreled action.

WCF stands for Winchester Center (or Central) Fire.

Use any standard gun cleaning kit such as Outers, Hoppe's, etc.

thank you for your reply.
You learn something every day.
Will probably keep it and clean it up some.
I would love to have the sight on it but finding decent and inexpensive where i live is not easy.

Truly thank you once again
