Question bench rest suggestions for a 22 SemiAuto

I need to sight in a new Ruger 22/45 MkIII at my indoor range to line up with the red dot sight I just mounted on it. I have a laser bore sighter but wondering what would make a decent temporary rest for the sight in at the range? I know I can buy loaded and unloaded bags but that seems a waste for just one pistol. So wondering what others have used?

Thanks,
Jim

Maybe not the best, but bring a towel, or small throw blanket or pillow and fluff it up, roll it up, etc. Should stabilize handgun pretty well. Beats going out and buying a rest.

I have a couple of old blankets that I take to the range with me. Rolled up, they make a decent improvised rest. If I ever got stranded, it will do well to keep me warm and cozy too.

A good idea, one I have used on several occasions!
