Well I got to shoot my Mini 14 today. I put 100 rounds through it,It shot like a dream. My wife got it for me for Christmas and I am sure glad she did! Had to make this report to all!

They are a true survival rifle.

I am gonna ask you a "I'm just curious" question, MRT. What sort of groups did you get with your new Mini? I am asking because I used to own an old Series 180 (original production run) Mini, and frankly, the only reason I sold it was because most of my (SCOPED!) 100 yard targets looked like a shotgun pattern! Have they improved the out of the box accuracy of the Mini's? I would love to have another, but if its the same "6 incher" that my 180 was, I think I will wait.

They average 3-4 out of the box. the new ones with the thicker tapered barrels are a little better. You have to do pretty extensive work to even get one to approach MOA.

Groups were right around 3 inches at a hundred yards. This gun serial#'s start with 581- xxxxx. They did have problems with earlier ones like U mentioned! Needless to say, that was with open sights, and that's how I am going to leave it for now, I think... .
