Here you go.
Hodgdon is the people that makes 296 (used to be Winchester, but Hodgdon makes it now). They have both 357 and 44 lead loads for that powder. http://data.hodgdon.com/main_menu.asp

Wow. Does anybody know when or why Hodgdon stopped listing lead data for 296 and H110? I tell the man where to go, and he says it ain't there, and I go look (to show him he's wrong), and damned if it ain't there. They sure used to list it.
I use 14.0 under a 158 lead in 357. The max they USED TO list was 15.0. I've never used 296 in 44 magnum, so can't help you there. I've been using that 14.0 load for, oh Lord, thirty years, at least.

You are a gentleman and a scholar. Thanks for the help on the 357 loads. I have different people telling me that even with my hard cast loads i may get bad leading with 296, what do you think. They are steering me toward tightgroup (close to 231) to avoid the leading issue??

Welcome to TFF D.GAD ! Are you hunting or target shooting with these loads? If you're looking for good target/plinking loads, then I have had great success with both TG and 231. 296 is good for heavier loads; pushing 158gn hard cast FN in which I'm only shooting a few rounds and I'm not concerned about cleaning some lead out; I'm after terminal performance only. Use a heavy crimp and you'll see the better burn and performance from 296/H110.

I mostly shoot 38s in my 357s. When I do shoot 357, it is either 14.0 of 296 under a 158 lead SWC or RNF, or 18.6 of 296 under a Sierra 125 JHC. Got both of those loads out of the Winchester manual, some 30 years back, and ain't never seen a need to change. Both of those with a magnum primer. 296 likes magnum primers.
But I've put a lot of them downrange, and I've never had the terrible leading problems I hear about. I cast my bullets out of straight wheelweights, and drop them to a folded towel, to air-cool. Maybe I've just been lucky.

D.GAD, go to Handloads.com. (e.g., http://www.handloads.com/loaddata/de...rce=Winchester). There are 296 loads for both.
