It gets kinda hard to load the last few. Should I leave the mag loaded over night or is this not advised?
P.S.-I've read about the mag loader (I think Juker made)...good idea.

New mags can be kind of tight in the beginning. It is going to take some loading/emptying to loosen it up a bit. Guess you need to start shooting them mags empty.

Mine stay loaded all the time. Never know what's going to walk through to door. I shoot at least twice a week so I'm not worried about them going bad.

I did read about that invention by Juker but the last round still has to be muscled in. I will attempt something similar however.
I picked up a second mag yesterday and plan to run about 200 or so rounds through 'em on Sat. I will try Blackshirts idea for a while...hopefully I'll develop a technique to loading |

Home built loader that allows all 10 rounds. Some guys in another forum created much better versions of this same concept.

One other thing...you might want to work on your finger strength
![]() Its truly amazing how many things folks say are difficult, and someone else thinks are easy as pie...usually due to strength. Much like any other sport, sport shooting/plinking/etc, those who are in better than average physical condition come out ahead Even if all you do is get an Eagle Catcher hand exerciser from AWMA, it'll quickly make a difference that folks who shake your hand will FEEL ![]() For advanced folks or just wiry ones...fingertip pushups do amazing things for your hand strength!!

^I didn't say I [I]couldn't[I] do it...I was simply looking for an easier way. It has nothing to do with strength.
I was asking mostly if it was ok for the spring to leave the mag loaded overnight... |

Doesn't hurt a spring at all to leave it fully compressed for any length of time. Springs are worn through usage, it's quite alright to load'em up and leave them for extended periods.

It is more about having raw fingers after 500+ rounds a trip than strength to do it. $25 for a Baby Uplula is money well spent IMO.

Well, got back from shootin' a little (120 rounds) and found out what I was doing wrong. I was trying to push the rounds in sideways then back and they would slip off to the side a lot. Instead, I now use the flat bottom of the bullet to decompress the spring enough to tilt the bullet into position...much easier this way.
120 rounds went off without a hitch. I could see how shooting over 500 would leave you with a sore thumb. Another great idea - modifying the magazine! brilliant! |
