Thanks stede. I have been collecting now for about 35 years. I also taught myself to repair them. So I have all the tools that go with the repairs and a couple of watch benches also. It has been a fun hobby.

My gerbers are OK. My two favorites are the SOG Aegis and the Kershaw Leek. I love Ken Onion Knives.
My SOG is a beast but doesn't weigh so much that it pulls your pants down. Don't tell the liberals but, I carry the leek or the SOG every day in a high school. I am amazed they haven't jumped out of my pocket and stabbed a bunch of teenagers yet. Next on the docket is some Tanto blades. If you can't tell I prefer a drop point blade. |

On stainless knives use a diamond hone. Couple of swipes and the edge is back. Use the knife 2,3 times they are dull. Won't hold edge.

Rooster, when you look for a wife, don't go on beauty, she will beat you every time, look for loyalty. I lost my best one 4 years ago. I don't plan on a replacement, I'm going the rest of the way solo.

I got this knife in the early 70s in a trade. It is a Gerber Magnum Hunter.
![]() Pardon the camera strap in the photo ![]() I use it often and it still holds an edge well and the handle is made of a metal composite material that is easy to hold even when covered in crappie innards.

I started "collecting" back in the late 1990s - knives, daggers, short swords, etc. All from various countries. Found them all at gun auctions, general auctions or at gun shows. Didn't realize how many I had and how beautiful some were, until I move a couple years back and got them all together for picture portraits. Here's a couple pics of the more spectacular items:
"Matched pair of Ceremonial Doummya style Jambiya from Northern Morocco, silver on wood with inlaid stones and colored glass Possibly Malay? or Javanese - from handle - can't match with any reference with syckle blade - coral and brass inlay North African Jambaya - camel bone grip, silver on wood, inlaid stones Azeri Sword - a combination of Yatagan and Kama styles -Azerbaijan If you're interested in seeing other interesting blades, let me know.
