Default titegroup trivia

Can someone settle an argument please, Did titegroup start off as a powder for 22LR's. I think I read that somewhere and I pulled an old federal wildcat and it sure looked like it.

Cant say that for TG is/was for .22LR..But I do know that the powder manufacturers will sometimes develop a powder for a certain ammunition maker...Under a contract, the powder manufacturer agrees not to produce this powder for sale to the public or other ammunition makers for a number of years..

One of them that comes to mind is Power Pistol, made by Alliant.....I 'believe' this was the powder used in many Winchester pistol loads for years...
