Default Iron Sights sighting-in

What distance should this be done at?? 25 yds.? I have shot at about 10 paces (approx. 10yds) and I'm hitting to the left.

Also, I don't have access to a range so will it matter if the ground isn't level? And can I do the same for a SKS or should if be a further distance (I need to pick up the sight tool 1st).

dont know about the rest of the folks..I always sighted in about the range I expected to be shooting at....the type of game i hunted determined what range i sighted in at..rabbits usually twice the distance as squirrels. no use to sight in at 25 yds if i was shooting at 50 yds!

As far as the ground being level it depends on how "unlevel" it is and the distance you are shooting at. Slight decline/incline isn't going to effect it much at close ranges. Steep downhill or uphill is.
