Default Ruger 480

What happened to this cartridge ? Did the .454 eliminate it from production? I fired this in an Alaskan and it was very powerfull and never heard why it's not available anymore.

buy one and put it away unfired in the box or lightly used , they are going to worth a fortune in 10-20 yrs if that long.

CDNN was selling Super Redhawks for under $500

I had one of the early ones and empty cases would stick. I polished the cylinders lightly and problem solved.
I purchased the 480 just to compare to my 454 and I liked the 454 better (the ability to shoot 45C)
fairly few bullet choices might have had a bit to do with the lack of popularity
