I am sure we can get them in 5-10 years after the military figures out the bugs....

Doesn't look reloadable to me. I know it wasn't "guided", but wasn't the old Gyrojet a smoothbore? Does anyone else even remember the Gyrojet?

Sure do....they came in both a rifle and pistol....it was not very accurate at all and had some range limitations.

Some show up once in a while for sale, strictly for collectors today as ammo is no longer available.

Thanks for the picture Freebore! I always thought it was comical that the hammer swung up and hit the round on the nose to start the ignition. A real piece of firearms history there.

What cracked me up about that gun was it took awhile to build up enough speed to do some damage, assuming you hit the target. You could stop the bullet/rocket in its tracks just by holding your finger in front of the muzzle and not give it a chance to accelerate. Dating myself aren't I?
