22 Magnum Semi-Auto.. Which one to choose? - The Firearms Forum

There have been a number of 22 Magnums over the years.
Even Ruger made a 22 Magnum version of their 10/22 but eventually
suspended production..
Now the little magnum is making a comeback.
See Excel Arms, Magnum Research, AMT, and now Kel-Tec
all making either rifles, pistols or both..
All of which claim to have overcome the cycling problems inheirent with
the 22 Magnum in a Semi-Auto.

My question is, does anyone have any experience with the Excel Arms
rifles or pistols in this caliber?

I would really like to add one (of each) to my collection..

What about the Remington 597?

The Kel_Tec works well with the .22 mag round. At first I had a few FTL but after 100 rounds and a good cleaning it works well and very smooth now

I had an AMT with the 6'' barrel and never havd an issue with it. It was actually my carry gun when thats all I had for a handgun 20+ years ago.

I have a Excel .22 WMR rifle, nothing but problems. Look further.The gun jams, has problems with spent shell ejection.

If you don't have the $, check out the Mossberg 715T.
If you have the $, see the CZ 512.
