Loaded 350 rounds of 45LC last night, pretty HOT STUFF. I know a really nice fellow who just loves his new Ruger Redhawk Double Action!

Spent the last couple of days loading up, 500 rds of .38 DEWC, 200 rds of .45ACP lead RN, 200 rds of .44 mag. I got the vibrator going with about 200 more .38's, and found a new unopened bag of .44spcl. I guess I'll spend a few hrs. in there again tomorrow.

bought a bucket full of culls(cheap) , sort them off into calibers going to start tearing them down to recycle

this would technically be reloading the reloads

I'm loaded up pretty good at the moment, what I need to do is shoot. Went to the local gun shop with a couple of the other Old Guys this afternoon as one of them wanted to purchase a new Ruger LCP or LC9, he chose the LCP. I picked up a pound of powder and a 1000 primers. The stock of ammo and components was the largest I have seen in a while. I mean pallet load stacks of ammo clogging the aisles. Powder and primers were in good supply also. Powder was priced around $19/lb., primers were $34-$36/1000 with three mfgs to choose from. Blazer 22lr. was $16/525, Blazer Brass 380acp. was $16/50, Blazer Brass .38spl. was $17/50, Federal 9mm was $12/50, .40S&W was $15/50 and .45acp was $17/50. They had Fed. green tip 5.56 for $170/420 in an ammo can just to give you an idea. The Ruger LCP with Lasermax was $330, $300 without the laser. This is a high volume gun shop, take a number, now serving no. 87, type of place but it is the major retailer of shooter's supply in this area.

Tonight, I'm starting on a new 100 bag of Norma 30-378 brass. Size, measure, and think about neck turning. I usually find 15-20 pieces that could use it.

I've been using 99-100 grains of RL-22 with 180 TSX's. I have friends that use 109 grains RL-22 with 168 TSX's. The books all say use less, like 97 grains for 180's. I think after spending $304 for 100 pieces of brass; I'm going back down to 97 grains and see how she works. But ya know, I really like how those hot loads knock the caribou off their feet too. Glad it's friday just the same.

200 down and it looks like 2 or 3 hundred to go.

308/s

I ended up using ramshot tac. I called accurate and their xmr 4064 powder would have required a compressed load so i said no. Their xmr 4064 powder is 7% slower than imr 4064.

Just emptied my brass polisher of 100- .30-30's and 150- .41mags. I shot these up about a week ago when the weather was kind of spring like here in the Willamette valley of Oregon. Now its too cold to do any kind of outdoor shooting, back to reloading 9mm again.

Good looking results Packrat. It was in the mid 70's here today so I went to the range for some "unloading".

I am,I just got my dies in the mail yesterday.I don't yet have the press yet but I was told I could gently tap out the old primers by putting them in a socket with a small size metal punch. The punch fit loose in the primer hole and with not much effort they fell out the bottom.I did like 300 9mm shells this way tonight.I didn't want to wait.

I probably have a couple hundred pounds or so. Whats funny is that I dont shoot lead. I am just stocking up on what I might need if it is needed in a case of need.

There is a case of need here! I live just outside of the Shreveport/Bossier City area, and there is not a single dealer in the whole area that sells reloading supplies, other than Bass Pro Shop, and the stock very little.

I've been venturing north with my 44 mag and thought I might try 20 grains of 2400 and see what my model 29 is capable of. 19 grains was a hoot, so I'm thinking 20 should be "wow". Hope I don't turn myself into a flinch-monkey in the process. 240 grain MBC with with mostly winchester brass, on top of winchester primers. One gripe-of the times I have purchased new winchester primers they have all been mildly tarnished. Kind of annoying when you put them in freshly tumbled brass. Thankfully I just picked up a 1000 CCI primers, so glad to be done with these.
