Default AR-!5 tactical lights

I am looking for a good tactical light to mount on my AR-15. I have been looking at the Streamlight TLR-1s but am open to other suggestions. I prefer it be bright and it'd be nice if it offered a strobe function.

Suggestions?

Cree 123.

Why do you want a strobe ability?

I use a Leapers UTG Tactical Flashlight 200 Lumens on mine. No strobe, but I don't need one.

I have the TLR-1s, and I like it. Disabling the strobe is easy, and it's brighter than the TLR-1.

I've only had it for a month or so, and I haven't really used it much. Far too cold out for my preferences. Hopefully in the next month or so I'll get a chance to really put it through it's paces.

For my eyes, it's about as bright of a light as I would want indoors. I think 160 lumens is what they advertise. Two hundred or more is blinding to me.

I put this one on mine and it'll turn 100yds into DAYLIGHT!
I use it to Coyote hunt as well.
SigSauer Stoplight Tactical Light (STL-300J) *around $225*

When I was shopping for my AR, went over to my local GS and talked to the guy. Had the Stag out and swaping/upgrading a few things on the counter and I asked about tossi'n in a front handle to add to the deal.

He laid the Sig out and I asked about the lummins and I had to ask him twice to be sure I heard it right.
700L and at 300yds, Ive 'lit up coyotes.

Strobes can cause an epileptic to go into seizures.

At 700 lumen, I'd be worried about the strobe affecting the shooter's vision too.

That's what Ive heard as well, and if it an assailant, perhaps better then being shot.

Ive shot @ 50 and 100yds at night and no problems at all "with the scope."
I mounted the scope before I had a chance to test it with open sights.

EDIT: Also with the stobe mode on.

It has the thumb button to hold on and release and the stay on button, and strobe button.

the strobe function is for disorientation...if someone comes in my home or is on my property that doesnt need to be, then i am not worried about causing them to have seizures. not to mention its a good confuser for hogs...they cant figure out what to rush and gives more time to get some rounds off if i end up too close. i prefer something not mounted to a foregrip just because i already have a grip that i really like and i dont mind spending a few extra bucks to get a remote kit

TLR-1 is not a real good light. The Surefire X300 is far superior in quality and has a more focused beam. I use a Surefire Executive with a Gear Sector mount. Great light with perfect beam. Can light up a football field in a lightweight and low profile package. Also has a dim light position for searching indoors. Tough as nails!!! I have fired hundreds of rounds with the Surefire and not one failure. I had a TLR-1 on my Sig 220 and it broke within the first 100 rounds.
