Wow, that is a big sucker. One of the Old Guys brought his Winchester Wildcat Varmint .22lr over this evening and wanted to remove the BSA Sweet 22 3-9 scope and mount a Barska Varmint 6-24 x 42 AO mil dot scope. He bought the scope at Gander Mt. reduce from $99 to $80 less a $20 Gander Mt. mail in rebate.
Well first thing we had to do was go get some higher rings. He got a set of Weaver steel rings for 1" scopes and extra high (#49307) That cost him an additional $30. No difficulties mounting the scope but I am not sure whether I mounted the scope on the rifle or mounted the rifle on the scope. That thing is huge. We will see how he makes out with it at the range as soon as it is old man weather.

I have a Barska 4-12x40AO on a CO2 air gun. Parallax and focuses down to 10 yards.

Several months ago I put Mueller 8-32x44 on a CZ 22. It takes 30mm rings and weighs 26 ozs. Big, but seems to do what I want it to do.

I have a Barska 6~24X and an 8~32X. Both require critical eye positioning or everything goes cloudy. When the eye is positioned dead center, the glass is clear, bright and sharp.

If you got the money you can get a ziess with a 72mm objective. It is a 6-24x I believe. Now that's a scope.

Thanks joey and doubs for the feed back. This fellow is finicky and I will pass the info on to him. I think he is after small groups at 100 yards but I also think he would have been better spent to try ammo changes rather than scope changes. All the Old Guys have a limited gun budget. But hey that is the fun of the hobby, right.
