bpcr on a budget??

I have had a "longing in my heart" for a Sharp's 45-70. The real McCoy is, of course, out of the question. As I am retired, a Real Shiloh or C. Sharps is also out of the Question. In fact, a new Italian import is unlikely.

My question(s): What are some internet-sites generally most highly regarded as reliable (and reletively reasonably priced) for finding good used guns in this general class. What are some of the pitfalls a novice shopper might not consider when looking on auction and used gun sites for a new-used gun? (I do understand the ffl requirements and shipping expense.)

Any comments you care to leave would be greatly appreciated.
