I will vote for whomever gets the Pub nomination. If thats Santorum so be it. If its Romney I'll hold my nose and vote that too. Its the only way to defeat the pos that sits in the oval office now.

No matter what, if the pub wins the election the media is going to report that they are destroying America anyway, killing social security, wanting to kill old people etc etc.

It is true that Santorum voted against the Firearms Manufacturers Protection bill.
It is also true that he voted FOR the Firearms Manufacturers Protection bill.

That is because there were two versions of this bill.

Here is a comparison of the two bills from Vote Smart:

He voted for this one:
S397
Highlight:

-Calls for the dismissal of all qualified civil liability actions pending on the date of enactment by the court in which the action was brought (Sec. 3).

-Exempts lawsuits brought against individuals who knowingly transfer a firearm that will be used to commit a violent or drug-trafficking crime (Sec. 4).

-Exempts lawsuits against actions that result in death, physical injury or property damage due solely to a product defect (Sec. 4).

-Requires all licensed importers, manufacturers and dealers who engage in the transfer of handguns to provide secure gun storage or safety devices (Sec. 5).

-Prohibits the manufacture, import, sale or delivery of armor piercing ammunition, and sets a minimum prison term of 15 years for violations (Sec. 6).

He voted against this one:
S1805
Highlight:

-Requires criminal background checks on all firearms transactions at gun shows where at least 75 firearms are displayed for sale, excluding private residence or events funded and maintained by nonprofit hunting organizations (Sec. 2).

-Dismisses all pending actions, excluding lawsuits which involve the following: negligence of gun sellers; violations of existing state or federal law referring to the sale or marketing of firearms in which the violation was the probable cause of harm; breach of contract or warranty linked to the purchase of the firearm; or defects in the firearm or ammunition (Secs. 3, 4).

-Provides for a 10-year extension to the assault weapons ban (Sec. 5).

-Increases penalties for criminals using armor-piercing ammunition, and exempts qualified current and former law enforcement officers from state laws prohibiting the carrying of concealed handguns (Sec. 5).

The hate vote is no good. That's what got us into this situation . Anyone but Bush. Please vote for the best man for the job and not what the media says , circle or square. No vote cast is a vote wasted . Im not institutionalized , not yet at least lol.

Thank you ampaterry. I'm glad someone finally set the record straight.

For those that think he will impose his Catholic values on all of us I don't think that at all. He will be president....not KING. We have a system of checks and balances to prevent such impositions through the legislative and judicial branches. Now I have no problem with him using his values to guide his daily activities as president. At least he has some that are more in line with my beliefs than the current bunch of leftist do. When Obama had the Pelosi/Reed rubber stamp we were on dangerous ground. Their healthcare bill should scare the ever-lovin out of all of us.
Don't forget that whoever is elected this time will get to appoint 2 or 3 more Supreme court justices. That will have a more lasting affect than anything else.

I would take a president that starts his day praying to god for guidance than one who kneels with the muslim terrorists anyday.

He rarely speaks without advocating a federal ban on something he dislikes. He wants to impose his religious and personal views on everyone else. He hates the idea of liberty!

Rick Santorum is as decent a human being as we've had run for president in a long time. He is honest to a fault. The opposition is trying very hard to find something to smear him with. A little investigation disproves most of it.

The man is a principled pro life, pro second amendment conservative, who happens to be a Roman Catholic. He has no desire to impose the tenets of the Catholic church on anyone. Geez, I thought that kind of prejudice ended when Kennedy was elected.

We had all better get behind someone soon or we will have four more years of the erosion of our constitution. Romney is by no stretch of the imagination a conservative. Gingrich goes whichever way he thinks makes him look good. Neither has a history of supporting the second amendment.

The obvious choice is Santorum. Wake up America.

I hate the concept of anything but the existing guy. But we have no choice. 4 more years will end very ugly I am afraid. Santorum is not a bad guy but he will have to separate his personal religious views from his public expressions.

It doesn't matter.

The choice will be Romney. That's a foregone conclusion.

Which means, we'll have 4 more years of the present occupier, because Romney won't beat him.

And, if he does, he's so much LIKE Obama, we won't notice much difference.

I am happy that the "So Called Rino" Mitt won MI. Santorum sunk to a whale poop low in begging for Democratic and Union help in the election. I dont want anyone pandering to the liberals to get any where near the Oval ofice. We would be just as far ahead to keep Obama as we would be to have Old Tricky Ricky in there.

I strongly disagree. So far, Santorum has my vote. I just wish Palin was running.
