Default Mannlicher Schoenauer 1961 MCA question

I have a 1963 dated MS MCA half-stock in 30-06. The magazine plate looks to be unblued, like it was nickel plated. It doesn't look like just plain metal "in the white" as if the blueing had been removed, or worn off. I haven't seen any magazine plates that were not blue. Does anyone know if any MCA came with a non-blued magazine plate, or should it have been blued and someone just stripped the blueing off. The rest of the rifle appears normal in terms of blueing (and the non-blued bolt).

Never seen an original with a white, or nickel, magazine plate.
