Has anybody used the Hornady trio case prep? Thinking about getting one since I have close to 1000 pieces of 223 brass to get prep'd.

Evin, I haven't used this product so I can't speak about it specifically.
But, I do have an RCBS Trim Mate Case Prep Center https://shop.rcbs.com/WebConnect/Mai...&route=C11J037 and honestly, don't know how I would want to do that many cases by hand. Lyman has a similar type product as well - http://www.lymanproducts.com/lyman/c...rep-xpress.php. Hornady also has this little nugget - http://www.hornady.com/store/Lock-N-...e-Prep-Center/. It's more $, but also combines more steps in the process. Also, I think the vertical layout will allow the debris and shavings to be better controlled. Spend a few extra $ (RCBS or Lyman) for the two extra locations for crimp removal tool and case brush. It's worth it in time saved. Shop around or catch a sale, you can find better pricing.

No on the Hornady model but lots of experience with the RCBS Trim Mate Case Prep Center. I wouldn't swap it for anything. Close to a 1,000 cases is not a small amount but I've done well over 10,000 rounds on the RCBS. The largest single batch I did was 3,800 .38 Spl once fired brass. They got the works including primer pockets made uniform. I obviously didn't do them all in one session, but worked on them a couple of hours a night over a couple of weekends. It's a hardy and handy machine.

I got to play with it at SHOT this year. Its a great little trimmer. And will well pay for itself for years if you get it. I myself have been wanting one since shot show.

You won't be disappointed. I'm with Bob, I wouldn't trade mine for anything either - it's a workhorse.
